Ceramics Marcó, a family lineage dating back to 1473
Located in the municipality of Quart, at the foot of the Gavarres massif, it is one of the oldest artisan workshops in the Mediterranean. We date back to 1473, and with a passion for art and craftsmanship, we represent the 25th generation of this family lineage.
In 1900, we moved from the heart of the Gavarres to the town center of Quart. Since then, the workshop has shown a strong social commitment, leading them to eagerly share tradition and knowledge, and to discover and learn through interactive experiences, becoming a creative space for many artists and professionals in art, craftsmanship, and architecture.
As a result of collaborations with protagonists of Catalan modernism, Girona's noucentisme, and contemporary art, the Marcó collection currently provides a comprehensive view of Catalan art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. And within this context, it is the workshop that best represents the work of the two greatest exponents of Girona's noucentisme: Fidel Aguilar and Rafael Masó.
Today, alongside the workshop's own work, we participate in projects aimed at promoting creative entrepreneurship, design, tradition, and the culture that backs us.
