Exquisite specimens of the ethnic dan, originating from the Ivory Coast. The center piece stands out for its large almond-shaped eyes and rich inlays of beads in vivid colors of blue, red and white. The three pieces come with headdresses made of cloth and plant fibers, decorated with tiny cowrie shells. Masks female give have the function of fixing disagreements and to protect the newborns.
