For the heraldry that occur, it is possible to group them into two categories. In both cases, the provision of the lions and the plant decoration placed around the shields, as well as the presence of these imply that it would be buttons, made with the occasion of the commemoration of the union of two aristocratic houses.

The shield left, common to all buttons, features three half-shells, arranged around a band lisa located in punta. It is the same heraldry as that of the French town of Maffliers, situated in the Val-d'oise, in Île-de-France, place mentioned forming part of the territories of the Abbey of Saint-Denis medieval and then went on to form part of a barony in the SEVENTEENTH century. The difference of the coat of arms of the commune of the Gold Coast of Burgundy called Couternon in which the of it is of a blue background (azure), and the latter is red (gules), both with shells of gold. This same heraldry, azure, the behaved several characters, such as Gabriel-Auguste de Mazancourt (1725-1809).

The material and the good state of preservation indicate the exclusive use of these buttons in the costumes of ceremony, or uniform stop.
