The Hummer H2 is an SUV and SUT that was marketed by General Motors under the Hummer brand. This is a off-road size large (slimmer than the Hummer H1 ), while longer, heavier (~ 6600 lbs.), and more high with space for nine passengers (including driver), seven passengers in some models. The rear part of the H2 SUV was modified to a off-road for the H2 SUT 2005 ("Sport Utility Truck"). The Hummer H2 was the only one of the off-road with the letters Hummer between the grille. This makes the SUT able to haul the same cargo most trucks can carry.

The H2 was built under contract by AM General at a plant especially built in Mishawaka, Indiana , USA . Mounting end frame of the H2 is composed of 3 parts: The front uses a GM modified 2500-series in the framework of public services, the middle section is new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modified GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8.600 lbs (3.900 kg) of total weight with maximum load.

The H2 was nominated for the off-road American of the Year award in 2003.

Hummer launched a special version of Chrome Black 2009 limited edition .

Application

The H2 has a frame of atv's lightweight and has a strong track wider than normal that may offer stability against overturning compared to some of the SUV's off-road light more common, although objective tests have not been made by the government or other third parties due to your class of specialized vehicle. It was marketed both as a vehicle of general purpose and as an off-road vehicle. The goal of mass marketing of GM was to maximize the sales and the H2 is primarily used as a passenger vehicle on the roads typical. Along with the Ford Excursion the H2 was also the base for a conversion of limousines.
