Instrument is mounted on a base trabecular concave, with three legs screw adjustable. Has a circular plate of brass with a center punch is mounted on the base, with two spirit levels. The heliostat is mounted between two brackets out of brass with a screw-clamp. The dial is enameled, signed A. Prazmowski. 1 Rue. Bonaparte Paris graduated about three-quarters of the circumference (IV-XII, I-VIII with subdivisions of ten minutes and a sphere of minute subsidiary. The drum of bronze, helióstato houses the mechanism, with a key wind-beneath (not included). It includes the indicator analema which is adjusted to the center of the sphere and has a view pinhole. On the cross bar in the base of the arm viewer there is a small circular aperture. The circular mirror is mounted in a holder made of brass separately. The instrument is contained in its original box of mahogany.

A similar instrument of this maker was sold at Christie's South Kensington London in Exceptional Scientific And Engineering Works Of Art, April 8, 2004, lot 10.
