He was born in Bilbao in 1889.

It was one of the artists most restless of the School of Painting Basque, rehearsing several disciplines: painter, printmaker, and sculptor, collector of ex-libris, decorator and illustrator. On the historical level, is also dedicated to numismatics, heraldry and philately.

Collector's world, although primarily focused in Spain and France, its masterpiece is the studio stamp of the 6 quarters of 1850, undertaken with the technical collaboration of Ramón Ruiz de Arcaute. For the realization of such comprehensive work, told with the help and data of the collections of Fojo, Gálvez, Guerin, Monge and Senabre, among others.

As an exhibitor, won a gold medal at the Exhibition Philatelic National Barcelona (1930), Reus (1935), Madrid (1936), San Sebastian (1948).

He was appointed Delegate of Spain at the International Academy of Philately, Paris in October 1951, and was one of the founders of the future Academia Hispánica de Filatelia.

He died in 1956.
