The bikes Indian were manufactured from 1901 to 1953 by a company in Springfield, united States of America, which was called Hendee Manufacturing Company until 1928, it changed its name to Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company. It was the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world in the decade of 1910.
Went bankrupt in 1953, a time from which several companies successors have perpetuated the name in subsequent years (a has been manufacturing Indians since 2006). The model with V-engine of 1905, bike racing factory, achieved many successes and broke records. The success of the house was going up, to the creation and manufacture of the model Powerplus in 1916. The V-engine of this model was much more powerful and quieter than previous designs, and came to reach 96 km/h. Well, was a great success as a race bike and as a base for racing machines, managing to be in production with very few changes until 1924.
This Powerplus from 1918 features a flat-twin engine with side valve, and ignition by magneto. The illumination is by light of acetylene. Its colour is eye-catching, as well as the care with which he has been treated and restored. Both the seat of the bike and the sidecar are upholstered in leather, and both sides are painted the same color, forming a set.
The present lot is a unique opportunity for a passionate motorcycle historical for the foregoing reasons, in addition to being an exceptional chance to become a genuine treasure.
