The Chevrolet Corvette is the first generation of the sports division Chevrolet General Motors introduced late in the model year 1953 and produced until 1962. It is commonly referred to as the "solid axle" generation, the independent rear suspension did not appear until the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray was rushed in the production of its model year debut to capitalize on the enthusiastic feedback received from the public to the concept vehicle, but expectations for the new model were largely unfulfilled. The reviews were mixed and sales fell far below expectations through the first few years of the car. 1958-1960

For the 1959 models, motors and ratings of horsepower has not changed. The interiors have been revised slightly with graphics of different instruments and the addition of a storage tank for the passenger side. 1961-1962
Four taillights Appeared on the 1961, the treatment continues until our days. The engine displacement remained at 283 cubic inches, but greater power of the two fuel-injected engines to 275 HP and 315. Model year 1962 was the last Corvette suspension with a solid rear axle that was used from the beginning. With two new engines it was also the fastest. The increased engine displacement to 327 cubic inches, but DUAL 4-barrel carburetor engines were no longer available.
