The Renault Caravelle is a convertible automobile produced by the French manufacturer Renault between 1958 and 1968. During the first 4 years of production it was known as the Renault Floride in all the world except the united States and Canada where it is called the Caravelle.

The Floride was presented in 1958 at the Paris motor Show. It was a small convertible vehicle rear-engine designed by Pietro Frua of Carrozzeria Ghia SpA. I used the chassis and engine of the Renault Dauphine sedan. The year of its appearance in Europe was launched in the united States and Canada as the Renault Caravelle.

The original engine derived from the Dauphine, something low power, was replaced in 1962 by one of 956 cc from the new Renault 8. Also the name Floride is definitely replaced by the Caravelle in all markets. In 1964 adopts another engine of 1108 cc (56cv) used later in the Renault 8 TS.

In July of 1968 ceased officially in production.
