The Lamborghini Murciélago is a super sports car designed and produced by the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini's factory in Sant'agata Bolognese. The Bat is a two-seater, available with body coupe and convertible of two doors; the doors of this sport are of the type scissors (also known as Lamborghini Style Doors or Door Style Lamborghini).

In 2011, the car was replaced by the Lamborghini Aventador.

The name "Bat" comes from the name of a bull pardoned in 1879 of the ganadería Miura, for their bravery and dedication to the matador Rafael Molina "Lizard". Lamborghini has used in other of their models and names of the bulls, mythical as Aventador, Diablo, or Islero, or related to the activity of bullfighting: Miura, Urraco, Espada and Gallardo.

Lamborghini Bat

Description

The engine of the Bat is a 12-cylinder engine of 6192 cc, arranged in V at 60°, which reaches 580 HP at 7500 rpm with a torque of 66,3 kgm at 5400 rpm. Thanks to this, this car is capable of reaching 333 km/h of maximum speed and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 s. As it has been doing the brand from 30 years ago, the engine is located in a central position longitudinal with the transmission located at the front. This provision gives the car a good weight distribution, 58 % rear and 42 % front, giving it better traction, grip and braking.

The gearbox is automatic six-gear (for the first time in a model of Lamborghini) and all-wheel drive with a coupler, the central viscous. Account also with a traction control system (TCS) reduces engine power in extreme driving situations or limit of adhesion, may come to cut the injection.

On the whole, the degree of opening of the side flaps and the rear spoiler make the penetration coefficient aerodynamic oscillate between 0,33 Cx and 0,36 Cx.

As for the brakes, the Bat has four perforated discs and two independent hydraulic circuits, in addition to the ABS system with dealer braking-mail DRP (Dynamic Rear Proportioning) and emergency brake assist.

Design

The body of the Bat is constructed entirely of carbon Fibre, with the exception of the doors and the roof, are constructed of steel. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

The version Murciélago LP640 was presented for the first time at the Geneva motor show in march 2006, as a sneak preview of the version coupe. It is a renewed version of the Bat, equipped with an engine of 6.5 l that produces 640 HP to substantially improve the performance. Just like at the Murciélago, the engine is mounted in the rear, with the transmission in the front of the engine and the differential behind it, instead of a transaxle normally seen on cars with central engine. Also has a few external changes, primarily to lower the air intakes.

The front and rear bumpers have been reshaped to channel air more efficiently, and the new shape of the exhaust at the rear a diffuser is aerodynamically more efficient. Lamborghini Bat LP670-4 SuperVeloce

Lamborghini unveiled a new version of the Murciélago, the LP670-4 SuperVeloce, was presented at the Geneva motor show of 2009. It is the third supercar from Lamborghini uses the initials SV, the first being the Lamborghini Miura.
